PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Development)

Jigsaw

At Icknield, we use a comprehensive, evidence-based curriculum programme 'Jigsaw' to support the personal, social, health and emotional development of our children.

Jigsaw helps children build emotional resilience, self-awareness and essential life skills to prepare them for success in school and beyond. The programme builds skills year by year, adapting to each child's needs.

Implementation

Jigsaw consists of six half-termly units of work ('puzzles'), each containing six lessons ('pieces') for each academic year.

Impact

Assessment in Jigsaw is both formative and summative. The two clear learning objectives for each lesson (piece) formatively help teachers pitch and plan subsequent lessons. Activities are included in each lesson.
