Ladybirds
Welcome to Ladybird Class!
In our Autumn term we been learning the routines of our day and have settled in to school really well with a big focus on playing together and helping each other. We love to learn both inside the classroom and outdoors. We have made new friends and talked about what makes us unique. We have listened to each other and celebrated us as individuals. We have noticed changes in the world around us and have really enjoyed our wellie walks in the forest!
We have enjoyed our two key Literacy Tree texts "Where the Wild Things are" and "I am Henry Finch" have based some of our adult led learning on these two texts this term. We loved exploring the stories and there was lots of pretending to to 'Wild Things' and 'thinking' like Henry Finch.
In Phonics we have been learning the sounds letters make and have started to blend and segment these in our reading and writing.
In Maths we have enjoyed looking at subitising numbers as well as measurement, shape and pattern.

What a busy Spring term we have had. We have been enjoying looking at the changes in our seasons during our Nature School Sessions and have been busy exploring the forest area. In Maths we have had a focus on number, ordering and matching objects to that number. We have enjoyed participating in gymnastics learning how to roll and hold different shapes. We have continued learning our letter sounds with a focus on diagraphs! In Literacy tree we looked at the book Little Red where we created our own smoothies and the Extraordinary Gardener where we planted our own seeds. Take a look at our busy learning!
