Nursery Admissions

The main Free Early Education and Childcare funding initiatives available to parents are:


15 Hours Free Early Education

3 and 4 years olds are entitled to 570 hours of free early education per year, equal to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year.


30 Hours Free Extended Childcare

Some 3 and 4 year olds may be entitled to an additional 570 hours of childcare per year, equal to 30 hours per week for 38 weeks a year. The 30 hour free childcare entitlement is available to working families who meet the eligibility criteria. Visit the following Government web page to check your eligibility:


Joining Nursery in September: Admissions Process

The Nursery admissions process for September 2024 is for children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021.

Applications for admission into Nursery (September start) open during November of the previous year and close in March of the year of admission. Key dates for joining our Nursery class in September 2024 are detailed below:

Once your child is in Nursery, you must apply for a place at Reception. Joining Nursery in September: Transition Information 

We aim to provide a smooth transition for every child. Whether they are joining us from another setting, or have been at home with you, we want to ensure they feel happy, safe and secure with us. We provide a range of transition activities for our new starters to allow them to ease into school life and settle with us. 

In-Year Admissions: Nursery

The Nursery in-year admissions process for 2023-2024 is for children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021.
