Welcome to Fox Class!

What a fantastic Autumn term we have had in Fox class.  The children have worked really hard and have enjoyed a huge variety of different learning experiences.

We have worked very hard to learn the new routines expected in Year 1 and have had a big focus on playing nicely together and being kind to one another. 

We have enjoyed reading our key Literacy Tree texts; Cave Baby, Astro Girl and Send for a Superhero.  We loved exploring the stories and produced some wonderful learning including writing questions, lists and letters.  The children have worked hard to form their letters correctly and structure sentences using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.  We have learnt how to use question marks for the end of a question. 

In maths we have enjoyed learning to recognise, write and compare numbers to 10.  We have been adding and subtracting using part-part whole models.  We have used stories in maths to help us consolidate this learning. 

We had a fantastic Castle Experience day where the children were immersed in all things historical!  They were able to explore real artifacts, learn how to do a Tudor dance and have a go at a game of jousting.  At the end of the day the children were ‘knighted’ and received a certificate. 

We are really looking forward to another term of exciting learning ahead of us.
